Breeze through compliance and safety checks.
Keeping your workplace safe should always be a top priority - especially around high traffic and usage areas. Grammar Electrical™ specialises in electrical safety testing of all appliances and equipment, ensuring regulations and compliances are met.
Legally your workplace is required to ensure all equipment is electrically safe and maintained in a safe condition, although testing and tagging isn’t mandatory. Testing and tagging shows you how safe the appliance or equipment is at the time of testing.
As guidance, here are some official resources for reference:
The Electricity (Safety) Regulations 2010 apply to appliances, leads, and hand-held tools connected to electricity.
The AS/NZS 3760 Standard is an option for PCBUs to demonstrate compliance testing and tagging.
The AS/NZS 3012 Standard provides guidance for the safe use of electricity on construction and demolition sites.
Regular testing and maintenance of all your electrical appliances and equipment is encouraged to not only ensure safety but minimise any costs that may incur due to poor upkeep.
The type of environment is the primary factor in determining how often appliances and equipment are required to be tested.
We recommend the following frequency based on usage, guided by the AS/NZS 3760 Standard:
Every 12 Months
Hostile environments include areas where the equipment and supply cords are prone to consistent flexing or open to abuse.
Due to the appliance or supply cords being misused or being vulnerable to being misused, a 12-monthly testing period is recommended.
Every 6 Months
Factories, warehouses, and manufacturing sites and environments.
Although usage of equipment and appliances isn’t as demanding, due to the high frequency and continuous use of appliances, it is recommended that testing occurs every 6 months.
Every 3 Months
Building, construction, and demolition sites and environments.
This is considered as a ‘harsh’ environment due to the high likelihood of appliances and equipment being damaged compared to others, therefore testing is recommended for every 3 months.
We can help you and your organisation to create a customised electrical test and tag strategy to meet your needs.
Provide you with a report for each appliance and equipment tested, which includes full details about the inspection and results.
